My new legacy... primarily told from the point of view of my simself, a regional deity with a habit of fourth-wall-breaking offhand comments. The theme is one that will, most certainly, keep my interest (I swear!!), but you'll have to read it to find out what it is. (But if you know me, the title is a dead giveaway for what the theme is.)

(And, yes, I do need a naming scheme, which is why I like having a theme or idea to follow. It works for me.)

The Supernatural Legacy
Chapter 1- Of Hunters and Deities
Part One

It was an ordinary day, as it always is, but....I was bored. It's not much of an excuse, but it's the truth. I had no way of working on any of my projects. I had no chance of dispelling the boredom with anything I'd tried before- playing with premades, reading all day, I'd tried everything.

But then I got an idea in my head- what if I took someone people would recognize, a character sim- which I love making anyway- and made them a legacy founder? True, it had been done before, and many times over, but once I got the idea... I had to try it. And so... I worked. I compared pictures, I tweaked features... and last of all, I put him in my game.

Maybe my choice of characters wasn't the wisest. Maybe my methods were unwise as well. But I'm getting ahead of myself.... how about we check on what Dean's life has been like? Yes, Dean- Dean Winchester, of the TV show Supernatural.

In a small shack on the corner of Hunter Street and Deity Drive.....

-ding- New email from DeityShadow@simmail.com.

Hi, Dean. I bet you've got a lot of questions right now. First off, Sammy's fine, but you won't be able to contact him at all. Don't worry- neither he nor you are in any danger. But you're in a place where if you act the way you normally do, you'll get yourself into serious trouble. I don't want that, and I'm guessing neither do you. Just follow my suggestions and you'll do fine, though.

Secondly, there's nothing to hunt here- no demons, none of it. You have a fairly normal life right now, and it will probably stay that way.

Anyway, by now, your neighbors should be here. Go talk to them, get to know people. Find a girl you like, or something. Keep your secrets quiet, like you always do- trust me on this.

~Sil

Dean frowned, and sent a quick response to the email.

Who are you, and how do you know so much about me?

He didn't bother waiting for the reply, he'd heard someone outside. Glancing out the window, he realized the email had been right- these must be his neighbors... well, it couldn't hurt to be friendly... and if his neighbors were mostly hot girls- and it seemed they were- he'd be perfectly happy to talk to them.

One in particular had caught his eye- Lyndsay. Lyndsay was an aspiring artist and wanted to work her way up the corporate ladder so she could reform the corporate world by either showing everyone the 'right' way to do it, or, failing that, buying them out because she'd certainly be doing things 'right' herself.

Dean married Lyndsay in his tiny little shack a little over a month later. They'd gone on three dates before getting married, enough for them to think it was a good idea. More importantly, though, Lyndsay though she might be pregnant, and Dean thought it would be best if they got married right away.

Lyndsay hadn't been pregnant at the time, but she wouldn't know that, as she did get pregnant soon after. Nine months (and a few lucky promotions) later, the little shack on the corner of Hunter Rd. and Deity Dr. had been transformed into a house suitable for raising a child in. It helped, of course, that Lyndsay had quite a bit of money in the bank when they married- most of that went into building.

Dean couldn't help but smile as he looked at his son, Bobby- named after the man who'd been like a second father to him. For some reason, naming the boy after his brother or his father had just felt... off, to him, but the name Bobby seemed to work.

"Hey, Bobby... hey, little guy...." he murmured, staring into the eyes of his little boy, who stared back at him, wide eyed and curious.

Dean took to being a father fairly well, really. I suppose it was expected- he'd always been at his best with someone to protect. Just before Bobby's first birthday, a young girl had turned up on their doorstep, swearing that vampires had killed her parents. I wasn't sure what to think- the vampires I knew of were as harmless as kittens, but the girl had no reason to lie... I swore to look into it.

Her name was Cate, and she absolutely adored her new family. It took a long and tiring email exchange, as well as several assurances that I was looking into it, before Dean would get the idea of going after these vampires out of his head, but he did. Instead, he spent all his time with her and Bobby, or if Bobby was asleep, just with her.

Lyndsay worked all the time, but she still found time with her son and her husband... Enough time that when Bobby was nearly five, she found herself pregnant again.

She was due some time in winter, a few months after his birthday, and, though she'd been offered maternity leave several times, she refused to stop working for anything- she was too close to her goal now, in her opinion, to take time off.

"Wow, Cate. A little sister. I'm so jealous... I don't think my parents'll ever have any more kids..." Kendra Neal, Cate's best friend and classmate said quietly.

"Well, yeah, but..." Cate trailed off nervously.

"Dean'll still adore you just as much as he does, you know he will," Kendra replied with a grin.

"You know me too well, K. I guess you're right..." Cate said with a smile that turned to a mischievous grin. "Besides, how could he not? I'm awesome, right?"

Kendra laughed. "Of course you are, Cate, of course you are."

Through some awesome twist of fate, the first snow day Cate had ever seen was also during Bobby's first year of school. Lyndsay was at work, despite the weather and despite being eight-and-a-half months pregnant, but Dean took the day off to take the pair to the nearby park.

"Hey Cate, I can see Arbordale Bridge from here!" Bobby laughed, staring out over the snow-covered bushes from his place on the playground.

"Of course you can, silly, it's only a few blocks away, and it's huge!" Cate replied, grinning over her shoulder at him as she sat on the slide, holding onto the sides for a moment. She let go, laughing wildly. "Wheeeeeee!"

Dean wondered briefly if it was smart to let them play on snow-covered playground equipment, but he figured if they got too cold, he'd take them home and they could change clothes and have some hot chocolate or something. He just had to make sure they didn't freeze or get hurt, and he could manage that.

Besides, they were having fun, and there was no reason to ruin it. He knew the value of having a real childhood, and he knew that was what he wanted for them both.

Part two should be up tomorrow.
