Because I've been playing that neighborhood again and am flailing a little over a few things.

Toddlers, children, and new babies, including toddler!Gabby, who is really quite cute. Also some ACR madness. )

I've said numerous times that I'm not particularly good at sticking to just one or two projects at once, no matter what it is I'm doing. In the case of sims, well... I usually have four or five things going, plus a few neighborhoods for just playing. I tend to want to talk/write about whatever projects I have, and this usually means I end up writing a story for it, as well... And then not update because I'm working on something else.

So, I figure, I ought to at least try to keep track of what I'm doing by keeping a Project List in my LJ, with notes as to whether I intend to write anything soon or if it's even being written about (yet) at all. And... that's what this post is.

Because, seriously- seasonal rotations are not for me. I'm trying to finish the next rotation in the Legacy Haven, and it's already frustrating me with how long it's taking. After this rotation, I'm going back to my old style.

However, I do have tons of pictures, most of which are purely gratuitous cute, due to the large amount of toddlers and children. The fun part will be picking which ones to show......especially since the number of pictures I've taken scares me a little, and I'm still only on the Fitzhugh house.

1. You can, in fact, extract a baby. They will show up fine in bodyshop, have what are presumably the correct features when you age them up, and the only real issue is that you can't give them a hairstyle until you go into CAS. I'm very glad I found this, as I now know exactly what Gabrielle (daughter of Ben and Doc Nerd) actually looks like. I have to say, it could've been worse- some oddness, but she still manages to look pretty good, at least with the right lipstick to disguise the fact that she has an odd shadow under her mouth because her mouth and chin don't mix well.

2. Extracting a baby produces an unnerving missing-half-their-head effect when you age them up in bodyshop. It's unnerving enough that I'll probably reserve the use of this feature for very, very rare occasions.

3. I hate waiting for SimPE to load, then waiting for SimPE to close, then waiting for Bodyshop to load, then waiting for bodyshop to decide to be less mind-numbingly slow so I can get to the area where all the extracted sims are, then waiting for the various features to do the same so I can try to give them hair/outfits that don't make me cringe, then waiting for bodyshop to close, then waiting for the game (and all its various loading screens) to load. Waiting in general, in fact, drives me crazy. Which is why I'm posting this as I wait for the game to load.

you give me a confusing family tree, an easy to navigate family tree creating website, and nothing better to do at the moment.

I've been trying to make sense of the Legacy Haven family trees for a while, just basing it on the sims *in* the legacy haven- and the main tree is very confusing, when you don't have it all laid out in front of you. So, here it is, the "main" family tree- Fitzhughs and Simselves abound, as well as a couple Vetinaris, and a couple simself-spawn.

There's also a Marius family tree (much smaller), and a Goodytwoshoes tree (even smaller, just two sims!), because they haven't managed to get connected to the "main" tree quite yet.

Additions to main tree will be made as needed (ie, when Larch and Doc Nerd have kids, when the various neighborhood kids start hooking up and breeding, if anyone else has more kids, etc.), and if the other trees become tied to the main one, such additions will also be made as necessary.

I was seriously getting frustrated with how many awesome houses I keep seeing from people who have FT, and not being able to download them. Plus, I wanted secondary aspirations back, because I loved those.

I'd like to point out that I always roll for a sim's aspiration by the time they become a toddler, or right after they do. I have a notebook where I keep all their stats- zodiac, personality points, aspiration, and original turn ons and turn offs, just so I don't forget any of this.

I decided I'd roll for secondary aspirations for all the kids born in the legacy haven. Anyone who rolled their primary aspiration wouldn't get a secondary, but everyone else would. It is insane how many times Popularity rolled up- at least half of the ones who didn't have it as their primary aspiration rolled it. Which means most of them are popularity sims now, since several rolled it as their primary as well.

I don't mind this- I was hoping they'd have some sort of close community or something, especially since half of them are related somehow- but I've only recently started to get better at playing popularity sims and getting sims to interact without double minuses everywhere.

Only two sims rolled their primary aspiration- Daniel and Gabby- which I kind of like, because I feel like Daniel at least is very suited to his aspiration.

I haven't gotten around to doing much on any other projects, unfortunately, but there should be another Legacy Haven update out soon-ish. I'm finishing about one house on the rotation every day I have time to play, which means probably by the end of the week, if I don't end up getting pulled into some other idea or something.

Also, I have a thread on for the Legacy Haven, because I'm really hoping more people (especially those whose simselves and legacy sims I'm using) will see it.

Well, I said I'd upload to the exchange so I stop cutting out good pictures, and I did. I may still do my halfway-point updates here, I may not.

But here's the link-

I'll be doing seasonal rotations from now on- I'm going to each house to the beginning of summer as soon as I enter the house this next rotation, and start seasonal rotations from there. Hopefully, it'll mean longer updates, since my two-to-three day rotations didn't let much happen...
silvainsims_archive: (Default)
This may be the last halfway update I do for a while. I'm also considering uploading the picture portion of the end-of-rotation stuff to the exchange from now on so I don't cut as many funny pictures as I did with the last one (trust me, there were tons, I just didn't feel like finding them in the storytelling folder...)

I've just finished playing the Vetinari house, and I've got *tons* of pictures and a few arghmustyoudothistome moments with ACR and with sim births.

Pics )

Anyway, that pretty much covers what's happened this rotation, and next rotation should have births, toddlers, and *hopefully* more promotions, as almost everyone has the job for their LTW if they have a job LTW.

Edit- pictures are there now.

I've decided I'll probably post a text-only update about The Legacy Haven every time I hit the halfway point in the rotation, and a text-and-pictures update at the end of each rotation. So, this is the halfway-mark update for rotation number 2, Wednesday to Friday of week one.

I've determined that I love ACR. Normally, I don't let it get this insane, I'll set autonomy to spouse-only or none, and only use it for gender preferences. Now... I'm thinking I'll let it do this a bit more.

But it's nearly 4 AM, so I'll have to hold off til tomorrow(later today?) on the long, picture-y, explanation-y post. I'll likely edit it into this one for simplicity's sake. For now, here's a brief synopsis.

I'm going to edit in pictures once I get them uploaded somewhere. Edited in, behind the cut.

Pics... )

so I'll probably have to take it in to get them to fix it or something, since I've tried just about everything. I managed to transfer my EA Games folder onto the portable drive I bought to save everything the last time, and my mom's letting me load sims on her computer so I can keep playing until my computer is fixed. So, I'll still be doing the whole Legacy Haven thing, once I finish the first rotation I'll post some pics- I have *tons*- and some updates on who's done what so far.

Next time I get a computer (whenever that may be, even if it's years from now), I'm probably going to ask if they can guarantee it won't be trying to crash all the time before it's even a year old (as I got my laptop early last August, and it should, therefore, not be this troublesome....)

and ACR is causing chaos already.

Also, all entries about this hood will be tagged 'legacy haven', just in case anyone's actually... interested.

I just went to the Fitzhugh lot, checked the LTWs before leaving the game- I'll do the next half of the rotation tomorrow- and apparently... Spencer and Rhys *both* rolled the exact same LTWs they had in the Fitzhugh legacy. Weird. Also awesome, as I fully intend to fulfill as many LTWs as possible- even the hard ones like Spencer's.

...............................At least none of the knowledge sims so far have rolled max all skills. I hate that one, it's not easy for me at all. 20 lovers I can do, piece of cake. I could probably manage 20 best friends, too, with no flirts and no aspiration rewards- just have them hang out or play kicky bag for a while, instant friend. Call on the phone when social gets a bit low, soon enough, high enough to be best friends. But maxing skills is hard unless I put a lot of work into it.

I started a new neighborhood for something I'd been wanting to do for awhile- create a town called The Legacy Haven, a place for simselves and legacy sims to live where they'll never age and never die (and can relax, essentially). It's meant to be peaceful for both the sims involved and for me- something I can play to relax.

Well, I have 8 households already- Marius (family-Prof. Butters, Flavius, teen Cassius), Buccaneer (Jack Buccaneer and Sarah Purplebunny, roommates), Fireflower (De Fireflower and Marina Smoothiequeen), Dualegacy (Doc Nerd Dualegacy and Ben Blite, roommates, though ACR seems to think they want to be more than that.... XD ), Fitzhugh (Spencer Fitzhugh, Rhys Fitzhugh, my simself [Silvain Shadows], and Jake Shaodws-Fitzhugh, my simself's son with Rhys [bad habit of mine, breeding my simself to legacy sims I like]), Caesar (Julia Caesar. No one else yet, may add others later), Goodytwoshoes (Cecil and teen Cecilia), and Vetinari (Larch, Cypress [in a death room for ironic punisment because he's only here for that and to be Cass and Spider's father for the sake of correctness] [spared from ironic punishment because he turned out to be fun to play when I let him out to find out what he was really like], teen Cassidy, and teen Spider Jerusalem). I'm on a rotation scedule of 2 to 3 simdays on each house, then moving to the next. The order I listed them in is the order I'm playing them in.

Any breeding (aside from a few I have planned because I want to see the outcome) will be due to ACR. Most romance will be some cross of what ACR dictates and what I want to see. Almost all gender preferences were set while I was setting up the hood.

This will be vaguely documented in this LJ, just so anyone who wants to see it can. (And because I'd end up babbling about it anyway, since I can't do a project like this without telling *someone*.)

Also- I love playing the Marius house already. It's fun and relaxing, and the only one I've had to micromanage in the slightest is Flavius (and only because, for some reason, he sat on the couch instead of going to bed, despite being exhausted...)

Edit- I just realized something. I post more on this LJ than I do my main one. XD
