Plot and whatnot
Sep. 9th, 2008 07:04 pmAs I mentioned in my project list, I've been working on a new legacy recently- the Nox Legacy- and while it's not exactly plot-heavy, some scenes already have needed to be staged, and in one case, I had to exit without saving when shooting on another lot because of how I had to do certain things. I could've done it in a dummy hood, but I didn't see the point- I usually make a mess of that anyway, though I'll have to for the final scene I need to shoot.
Anyway, the thing is this- I've never done plot before. The Leo Legacy was pure commentary and the biggest plotty bit was Nala trying to convince me to give her an heir poll. My other current legacy is similar, mostly banter with the founder and general commentary-style so far. The only plotty legacy I've started didn't actually get written because I delayed shooting the scenes so long that I didn't even have the few necessary for the first chapter before the crash. I'm entirely new to staging scenes and making things look right when I do, though my fondness for decorating sim houses has helped a lot so far. So has my strong artistic side, and a few lovely animation and posing hacks.
I'm still nervous about how well I've done this, as well as how plausible the story I'm aiming for is.... But I've got a good feeling about this legacy, and I'm getting into it the way I did the Leos- I adore the entire family, especially my founder, and I can't wait to finish chapter one. Especially since I refuse to share pictures of the kids until I've written it.
